The commemorative coin is dedicated to the Ukrainian state established on the Western Ukraine lands after disintegration of the Austro-Hungarian Empire comprising a considerable part of the Ukrainian lands – Halychyna (Eastern Galicia), Bukovina and Transcarpathia (Carpathian Ruthenia). On November 9, 1918, its government was formed – the State Secretariat of WUPR. The Law of November 13, 1918, secured the supremacy and sovereignty of the people.

On the coin obverse against the background of the flag there are: the semicircular inscription - ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (National Bank of Ukraine) above, under which - the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, the coin face value – 2/ÃÐÈÂͲ (2/hryvnias); to the left – the lion (from the WUPR coat of arms); beneath, between the ornamentation patterns, the coin issue year - 2008 and the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint (on the right).

On the coin reverse there is depicted a group of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen under the flag and the arc-forming legend 90 ÐÎʲ ÓÒÂÎÐÅÍÍß (90 years of establishment of) and ÇÓÍÐ (WUPR).
