The commemorative coin is dedicated to the first mintage of Kyiv Rus coins,
i.e. zlatnyky and sriblianyky, at the end of 10th- early 11th centuries
during the rule of the Kyiv Prince Volodymyr the Great.

On the obverse
there are: the Small National Emblem of Ukraine and the semicircular legend
ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (National Bank of Ukraine) (above), composition of
the coins: zlatnyk (local gilding, gold weight in fineness – 0.0004 g) and
sriblianyky (on the right), a part of the ancient Kyiv reconstruction model
(on the left), under which indication of the metal and its fineness – Ag
925, weight in fineness – 62.2, the coin face value – 20/ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (20/hryvnias),
the coin issue year - 2008 and the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine
Mint.
