The commemorative coin is dedicated to one of the outstanding Armenian
monuments in Crimea – Surb Khach (Holy Cross) Monastery established in the
XIVth century.

On the obverse there are: above - the Small National Emblem of Ukraine and
the circumferential legend: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (National Bank of
Ukraine); in the centre – a Khachkar (cross-stone), that is located on the
monastery territory, decorated with a vegetational ornamentation pattern,
below – the coin issue year – 2009 and face value ÄÅÑßÒÜ ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (ten
hryvnias).

On the reverse
there are depicted the monastery buildings with the legends: ÑÒÀÐÈÉ ÊÐÈÌ /
²ÐÌÅÍÑÜÊÈÉ ÌÎÍÀÑÒÈÐ XIV ñò. (STARYI KRYM / ARMENIAN MONASTERY OF XIV
century) on the left and ÑÓÐÁ ÕÀ× (SURB KHACH) on the right.
