The commemorative coin is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Crimean
scientific balneology that originated development of the Crimean balneal
resources. One of the main therapeutic resources of the peninsula which
attracted the attention both of medical scientists and state authorities are
the Saky therapeutic muds whose medical properties started to be studied at
the beginning of the XIXth century.

On the obverse there is the semi-circular legend: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ
ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (National Bank of Ukraine), underneath – the Small National Emblem
of Ukraine, the image of the modern sanatorium against the background of the
Crimean picturesque nature, and inscriptions – 5 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ / 2007 (5 hryvnias
/ 2007) – as well as the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.

On the reverse
to the left there is the image of the chemist Felix De Serra (in 1807 he
analyzed Saky muds for the first time) against the background of the lake,
above to the right – the pump-room), underneath there is the inscription –
1807 / Ð²Ê / ÑÀÊÑÜʲ ÎÇÅÐÀ (1807 / YEAR / SAKY LAKES) – as well as the
emblem of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Above there is the
semi-circular legend – ÏÎ×ÀÒÎÊ ÎÑÂΪÍÍß ÊÓÐÎÐҲ ÊÐÈÌÓ (Beginning in
development of the Crimean resorts).
