The jubilee coin is dedicated to to to a poet being simultaneously a
romanticist and a thinker, who has enriched the Ukrainian literature with
philosophical lyrics and religious cosmic objects. Bohdan-Ihor Antonych’s
poetry has played an important role in development of the Ukrainian literary
modernism.

On the coin obversethere are:
the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription
Íàö³îíàëüíèé áàíê Óêðà¿íè (National Bank of Ukraine) to the left, the coin
issue year 2009 below and the coin face value 2/ÃÐÈÂͲ (2/hryvnias) in the
centre; to the left and right of the face value, diagonally, there is a
composition representing in a conventonalized form figurative interpretation
of Antonych’s poetry components (cosmic – to the right, vegetative – to the
left) with the National Bank of Ukraine Mint logo.

On the coin reverse
there is Bohdan-Ihor Antonych’s portrait against the background of a
vegetative pattern; to the right 1909/1937 (years of his life) and beneath
the semicircular legend ÁÎÃÄÀÍ-²ÃÎÐ ÀÍÒÎÍÈ× (Bohdan-Ihor Antonych).
