The jubilee coin is dedicated to Ivan Bahrianyi – a Ukrainian publicist,
poet, novelist and political figure. Ivan Pavlovych Bahrianyi (Lozoviahin)
was an author of novels, plays, poems, essays, the "Fiery ring" story and
the "Ave Maria" poem. Being subjected to repression and having served his
sentence, he then emigrated to Germany where he organized Artistic Ukrainian
Movement and founded Ukrainian revolutionary democratic party.

On the coin obverse
there is a strip with decorative pattern and the edge of a book against the
background whereof there is the inscription: 2 / ÃÐÈÂͲ (2 Hryvnia); above
against the glass background there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine,
underneath - the inscription: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ/ ÁÀÍÊ/ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (National Bank of
Ukraine), below to the left there is the coin issue year – 2007, and the
National Bank of Ukraine Mint logotype.

Ivan Bahrianyi is portrayed, to the right there is a vertical inscription
²ÂÀÍ ÁÀÃÐßÍÈÉ (Ivan Bahrianyi) and his years of life: 1906 (above) 1963
(below).
