The jubilee coin is dedicated to Volodymyr Mykhailovych Ivasiuk – a
composer, poet, singer, one of the pioneers of Ukrainian pop music. In the
1980-90-ies Volodymyr Ivasiuk became a symbol of Ukrainian renascence and
his works were widely acclaimed not only in Ukraine but also abroad.

On the coin obversethere are:
the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the inscription thereunder
Íàö³îíàëüíèé áàíê Óêðà¿íè (National Bank of Ukraine) above, the composition
representing a conventionalized flower of Chervona Ruta (a flower of the
Ukrainian legends related to Ivan Kupala (St.John the Baptist) Day) against
the background of an ornamental pattern (to the left), electric musical
instruments (to the right) and the coin face value and issue year 2/ÃÐÈÂͲ/2009
(2/hryvnias/2009) below.

are Volodymyr Ivasiuk’s portrait amid the viburnum leaves against the
background of a conventionalized vinyl record and the inscriptions: the
semicircular ÂÎËÎÄÈÌÈÐ ²ÂÀÑÞÊ (Volodymyr Ivasiuk) and 1949-1979 – years of
his life.
