The jubilee coin is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of birth of Oleh Olzhych (Oleh Oleksandrovych Kandyba) – a poet, public figure and archeologist. During the World War II he headed a patriotic anti-fascist underground resistance group and was one of the organizers of the Ukrainian National Council in Kyiv (1941). In 1944, arrested by Gestapo men, he perished in a fascist concentration camp.

On the coin obverse against the glass background there are: above - the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, thereunder – the inscription ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ / ÁÀÍÊ / ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (National Bank of Ukraine), below to the right – 2 / ÃÐÈÂͲ (2 hryvnias), the coin face value, beneath - the year of coinage: 2007, to the left there is a depiction of a chestnut leaf fallen on the block pavement and the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.

 

On the coin reverse Oleh Olzhych is portrayed, and the following inscriptions are placed: 1907 / 1944 (to the left) and ÎËÅà ÎËÜÆÈ× (Oleh Olzhych).
