 1 September 2017

Press Release

The  Museum of Money of the National Bank of Ukraine has launched tours of its facilities on Saturdays and Sundays. The Museum of Money shifted to new working hours in a pilot mode in early August 2017.

A month of working in a pilot mode demonstrated  the museum’s readiness to work at weekends and visitors found the novelties appealing.

“We move ahead with efforts to enable visitors  to have greater access to the Museum of Money. We feel contented that thanks to the project Open Museum –Open NBU, which was launched in 2015, over 10,000 children and adults were able to seize an opportunity to visit the Museum of Money of the central bank, which used to be closed to the public, said Head of the NBU Information and Public Communications Office Ms Nataliia Bondarenko.

The Museum of Money  is involved in continuous efforts to meet the needs of various strata of the public and make tours convenient and enjoyable for visitors. From now on, the Museum opens its doors to parents and children, as well as working youth.

New working hours enabled the Museum of Money to offer more guided and individual tours.

Efforts are under way to redesign the Museum of Money. In particular, new interactive programs, theme excursions and lectures have been prepared for a new school year. These measures are part of the efforts to achieve the Museum’s  ambitious goal of becoming an educational platform designed to promote financial awareness among the general population.

The schedule for excursions and online registration can be found at:

Please note that you can take a virtual tour of the Museum of Money on the NBU’s website:
