As of 1 June 2013, the international reserves stood at USD 24.541 billion (in equivalent), having returned to the level recorded at the beginning of the year.
In May, the scheduled repayment of IMF loan (the equivalent of USD 968 million) and redemption of sovereign debt securities (the equivalent of USD 427 million) affected the dynamics of international reserves.
The increase in the international reserves was mainly attributable to the proceeds from the Ukrainian Government’s placements of domestic sovereign debt securities denominated in foreign currency.
The balance of NBU interventions in May was in the black, totaling USD 395 million (in equivalent).
