In accordance with the Law of Ukraine On the National Bank of Ukraine, with the aim of ensuring the smooth, reliable, and efficient functioning of payment systems and banking transaction automation systems, the National Bank of Ukraine sets the rules governing information protection.

With a view to streamlining the procedure for providing banking and other institutions with information protection facilities required to  participate in the e-payment system and/or to be able to perform the information tasks assigned by the National Bank, as well as establishing the centralized rules governing  the agreement  execution procedure  in respect of agreements on the provision of banking information protection facilities, the National Bank of Ukraine has drafted a blueprint of NBU Board Resolution On Approval of Regulations on Information Security  (hereinafter – Draft Resolution).

The Draft Resolution envisages putting in place the following draft regulations: the Regulation on the Protection of Electronic Banking Documents Using Information Protection Facilities of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Rules Governing the Protection of Electronic Banking Documents Using Information Protection Facilities of the National Bank of Ukraine and the Regulation  on the Procedure for Carrying out Inspections of Information Security in Banking and Other Institutions that Use Information Protection Facilities of the National Bank of Ukraine. 

The adoption of the Resolution would contribute to the streamlining of relations between the National Bank and banking and other institutions, being participants in the e-payment system run by the National Bank of Ukraine and/or the information tasks assigned by the National Bank when it comes to providing them with banking information protection facilities of the National Bank and streamlining the agreement  execution procedure in respect of agreements on the provision of banking information protection facilities of the National Bank of Ukraine.

In view of the above, the National Bank of Ukraine has initiated a public consultation on the Draft Resolution.
