Handling of citizens’ claims by the National Bank of Ukraine in the first half of 2013

The National Bank of Ukraine provides information on the handling of citizens’ claims by the National Bank of Ukraine in the first half of 2013  as prescribed by the Law of Ukraine “On Citizens’ Appeals”.

According to information on the status of citizens’ claims, in the first half of 2013, the National Bank of Ukraine received 3, 261 written claims filed by citizens of Ukraine and other countries, with personal citizens’ claims accounting for 66.82% of the total number of claims.

In most cases, the citizens have raised issues related to the relationship arising out of credit or deposit agreements in their claims filed to the National Bank of Ukraine, their portion making up 35.33% and 28.83% respectively.

The NBU experts have given careful consideration to all the citizens’ claims and taken the relevant measures. In particular, 2, 855 (87.55%) claims have been satisfied in favor of citizens and the citizens have received explanations. 164 claims are still under consideration, and the remaining claims have been handled in accordance with Articles 5, 7, 8 and 17 of the Law of Ukraine “On Citizens’ Appeals”.
