Subject: Strategic Planning for the Financial Sector: Moving Forward under Uncertainty

Objective: Sharing and spreading the practices of strategic development and long-term and short-term planning; implementing central bank strategies.  Discussing the challenges for building an effective system of strategic planning and development, best practices of process management, and automation of process management.  Use of flexible approaches to strategic planning under conditions of uncertainty and laying out alternative plans and triggers for their implementation. Automation of strategic development processes and change management. Implementation of EU directives into the NBU’s processes.

Issues to be discussed:

  • Cooperation of central bank and financial sector regulators for building coordinated emergency response to opportunities and challenges
  • Rethinking strategy, managing strategic risks and vulnerabilities under highly dynamic conditions
  • Effective system of strategic planning for government institutions that enhances effectiveness and improves public trust by promoting transparency, accountability, and performance-driven decision-making
  • Contribution of central bank and financial sector regulators to ensure achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Mistakes and successes in implementation of the strategy and strategic planning: case study and lessons learned
  • Digitalization and raising efficiency of internal processes of the organization
  • Improvement of the overall efficiency and productivity of the financial sector.

Participants: representatives of central banks, foreign regulators of financial markets, and international experts.
