On January 16, 2015, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriia Gontareva took part in the plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. She informed members of the Parliament about the key challenges facing the Ukrainian banking system, money and foreign exchange market developments, and unveiled the regulator's plans on how to restore confidence in banks and the domestic financial system.
Speaking to members of the Ukrainian Parliament, Valeriia Gontareva noted that she is prepared to report personally back to the public on every decision she makes and measures taken by the central bank and confirmed readiness of the National Bank of Ukraine to take part in the parliamentary hearings on ways to stabilize the banking system of Ukraine, which had been scheduled for February 18, 2015.
