Indonesian Company Peruri Looks to Establish Cooperation with the NBU in Banknotes Paper, Printing and Minting Production

Advanced manufacturing facilities of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works continue receiving high recognition by global money producers.

On 11 May 2017, NBU Acting Governor Yakiv Smolii held a meeting with the delegation of Indonesian state-owned company Perum Peruri, a global producer of banknotes and highly secured products.

During the meeting, participants discussed the possibility of establishing a strategic partnership between the NBU and Perum Peruri in the area of manufacturing high-security paper, banknotes printing and coins minting.

Head of the delegation, Mr Harjo Sumarto Subandrio, who serves as Technical and Production Director at Peruri, stated that the Indonesian company was looking to cooperate with a long-standing and reliable partner able to enhance and promote the company’s extensive presence in the global market.

"We are interested in cooperation with Ukraine as production capacities of the NBU’s Banknote Paper Mill, Banknote Printing and Minting Works meet the best world standards. We are absolutely astonished at the efficient work of the staff, high level of automation, innovative technologies and quality of Ukrainian paper, banknotes and coins," – Mr Subandrio said.

Acting Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakiv Smolii thanked the representatives of the company for their high appraisal of the NBU’s activity in Banknote paper mill, Banknote printing and Coin minting. "We are not standing still, we are constantly growing updating our equipment and improving the skills of our specialists, - he said. - The NBU has ambitious plans to enter the international scene of banknotes printing and coin minting industry, so we are pleased with your interest to be a potential strategic partner in the area."

He expressed hopes that the company’s visit to Ukraine would be fruitful and would lead to cooperation in the future. Both parties are preparing a Letter of Understanding to be agreed upon on the best effort basis and mutually benificial.

Perum Peruri is a 100% state-owned company that belongs to Republic of Indonesia. It print an banknotes and mint a coin to satisfy domestic and international demand.

The company produces Indonesian banknotes and coins on orders from the Central Bank of Indonesia using the most advanced solutions in design and security.
