NBU Plans to Expand Distribution Channels for Sale of Own Numismatic Products

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) plans to sell parts of mintage of their commemorative coins at electronic auctions on the platform of the Universal Commodity Exchange House of Contracts UICE.

 

During the first e-auction the NBU will offer for sale The Savior-Transfiguration Mhar Monastery coins:

100 silver coins (in coin boxes) and

1500 nickel silver coins.

 

The auction for the sale of The Savior-Transfiguration Mhar Monastery coins is scheduled for 21 May 2019 at 11.00 a.m. on the platform of the Universal Commodity Exchange House of Contracts UICE.

 

This will enable the NBU to expand its distribution channels for the sale of own numismatic products.  The NBU approved the decision to sell a certain number of commemorative coins at auctions for effective development of the numismatic market and better opportunities for public to buy numismatic products, at the same time, preserving the existing distribution channels.

Please, be informed that the following rules are applied at this auction:

– one lot is 10 coins for silver coins and 100 coins for nickel silver coins

– the initial price is set at the level of the NBU retail price on the auction day

– price for each next lot equals to the amount of the initial price plus one tick (price tick for silver coins is UAH 500, for nickel silver coins – UAH 300).

 

After conducting the auction, the NBU and the authorized distributors of coins and souvenir products will sell commemorative coins The Savior-Transfiguration Mhar Monastery, including through online bidding, under the prescribed procedure. 

 

Please, be reminded that since 2005, the NBU has been cooperating with the Universal Commodity Exchange House of Contracts UICE. In 2016–2019, the Universal Commodity Exchange sold at its auctions the entire mintage of gold commemorative coins 25 Years of Ukraine’s Independence and wholesale batches of uncut hryvnia banknotes.
