NBU Revokes the Banking License of Vernum Bank JSC

Pursuant to Board Decision No. 335-D dated 14 May 2019, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has revoked the banking license of Vernum Bank JSC.

The sole shareholder of Vernum Bank JSC has decided to terminate its banking activities without losing the status of a legal entity.

Vernum Bank JSC is the seventh bank that terminated its banking activity on its own initiative without losing its status of a legal entity. The NBU has already revoked the licenses of BM Bank JSCDV Bank PJSCCB Finansovyi Partner PJSCApeks-Bank PJSC, Industrial and Financial Bank PJSC, and Credit Optima Bank PJSC.

Please be reminded that hte procedure for the termination of banking activity without losing a status of a legal entity became possible owing to the adoption of the Law of Ukraine On Simplifying Bank Reorganization and Capitalization Procedures in March 2017.

Revoking a banking license requires that banks agree with the NBU their plans for the termination of their activities and that they fully meet their liabilities related to banking activities.
