The National Bank of Ukraine Denied Acquisition of a Qualifying Holding of Sberbank PJSC

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has denied acquisition of a qualifying holding of Sberbank PJSC to a Paritet Bank JSC (the Republic of Belarus) due to failure to comply with Ukrainian legal requirements.

The NBU Committee on Banking Regulation and Supervision and Payment Systems Oversight has approved the respective decision on 19 March 2018.

The NBU has notified the applicant on the decision and discussed with the new management of the Ukrainian Sberbank PJSC issues pertaining to the future strategy of the bank in Ukraine.
