National Bank of Ukraine Expresses Concerns over the Management of STATE LAND BANK PJSC

The National Bank of Ukraine expresses concerns over information that Ms Svitlana Skosyrska would reportedly return to her duties as Chairwoman of the Management Board of STATE LAND BANK PJSC  without prior approval of the regulator.

In accordance with the documents submitted to the regulator, Ms  Skosyrska resigned from the post of Chairwoman of the Management Board of STATE LAND BANK PJSC on 29 January 2016. An ordinance was issued to accept her resignation.

On 1 February 2016, Ms  Skosyrska was designated as Chairwoman of the Management Board of BANK ALLIANCE PJSC. The documents have been submitted to the NBU to approve her appointment.

On 12 February 2016, the regulator was notified by BANK ALLIANCE PJSC that Ms  Skosyrska resigned from the post of Chairwoman of the Management Board of BANK ALLIANCE PJSC. On 16 February 2016, the NBU received a letter signed by Ms  Skosyrska informing the regulator that “she would return to her duties as Chairwoman of the Management Board of STATE LAND BANK PJSC”.

In view of this confusing situation, the NBU has sent inquiries to the bank and the public authorities acting on behalf of the state in its capacity as the bank's single-shareholder  for fact-finding purposes.

The NBU underlines that it will take all the necessary measures, within its competence, to ensure that the bank is run in an efficient manner, and will promptly respond to a violation of laws and regulations.
