NBU Makes Public Registry of Indices Under Framework for Implementing New Procedure for Submission of Statistical Reports

To implement the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Ukraine’s Financial Sector Until 2020, the National Bank of Ukraine carries out a project for collecting, processing, and using banking reports and information.

A reform of statistical reports envisages the changes in the format of notes for the requirements to the statistical reports. The submitters of the statistical reports will be informed about the requirements to the statistical reports in the form of a list (registry) of indices and structures of reporting files. The forms for the statistical reports and explanatory notes on their completion will replace the registries. Meanwhile, detailed explanatory notes on generation of indices and their analytical parameters will be provided, and the requirements for their preparation and presentation will be explained.

The method for presenting the statistical reports will be modernized. Companies will submit the reports through the NBU’s web portal in XML-format, or using an API application programming interface. To sign the statistical reports, electronic digital signatures that are issued by the authorized Key Certification Authorities will be deployed.

To regulate said change, new rules for submission of statistical reporting to the NBU are being developed.

The central focus is that the innovations associated with the introduction of a new system for collecting the statistical reports do not expand the spectrum of the reported data.

You can find a registry of indices on the NBU’s official internet website in the section Statistics/ Organization of statistical reports, subsection Registries of performance indices, containing the following information:

  • the registry of reporting indices submitted by non-bank financial institutions within the pilot project;
  • the draft registry of reporting indices for banks to file by individual blocks for types of activities;
  • manuals used for formatting the reports as per the registry of reporting indicators; and
  • the XSD-scheme for reporting files.

Information updates to the section will be continuously provided and filled with new materials based on the results of consultancies with financial market participants.
