New Alternate Executive Director of the IMF for Ukraine Is Appointed

Under the rotation arrangement, the Executive Directors of the IMF Dutch Constituency led by Belgium and the Netherlands have appointed Mr Vladyslav Rashkovan as the new Alternate Executive Director for Ukraine. Mr Rashkovan will take office as the Alternate Executive Director from 27 February 2017.

“I would like to thank Mr Oleksandr Petryk for his long-term service and fruitful work. I am convinced that new horizons will open up for our country that will maintain a high level of cooperation with the IMF in the future,” said NBU Governor and Governor for Ukraine on the IMF's Board of Governors Ms Valeria Gontareva.

The Alternate Executive Director of the IMF is appointed for a four-year term.  Appointment decisions are made by the Executive Directors of the IMF Dutch Constituency led by Belgium and the Netherlands, in which Ukraine holds membership.  This Constituency comprises 15 countries, including the Netherlands, Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Israel, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldova, and Montenegro, Romania, and Ukraine.

In April 2014, Mr Rashkovan took charge of the NBU Department of Banking System Strategy and Reforming.

From April 2014, Mr Rashkovan served as a member of the NBU Board, and from November 2014 to 1 August 2016 as NBU Deputy Governor responsible for reforms and transformation of the regulator.

Upon his initiative, the Comprehensive Program of the Ukrainian Financial Sector Development Until 2020, a roadmap for financial sector reform, was designed and the central bank’s transformation project was implemented.

Mr Rashkovan is Fluent in English and Italian.
