On 24 January 2019, an auction was opened for the sale of uncut sheets of hryvnia banknotes, in which the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) offered for sale the wholesale lots of uncut sheets of 1, 2, 5 and 10 hryvnia banknotes.
The auction took place in the electronic trading system with the remote access option. Auction participants placed bids for:
- 10 thousand sheets of uncut banknotes of 1 hryvnia with the total value of almost UAH 1.4 million
- 20 thousand sheets of uncut banknotes of 2 hryvnias with the total value of UAH 5.4 million
- 3 thousand sheets of uncut banknotes of 5 hryvnias with the total value of UAH 1.4 million
- 2 thousand sheets of uncut banknotes of 10 hryvnias with the total value of UAH 1.6 million.
The total value of the uncut sheets of banknotes of 1, 2, 5 and 10 hryvnias purchased at auction was UAH 9.8 million.
