More Opportunities for Bank Use of Handwritten Digital Signature

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has improved the procedure for affixing the handwritten digital signature in the banking system of Ukraine.

In particular, the regulator lifted the limitation on affixing a handwritten digital signature using only one signature instrument, i.e., stylus, and extended the option for signing documents with a handwritten digital signature to persons who expressed their wish to use banking and/or financial services.

Such innovations will positively influence the banking service market and promote financial inclusion as they contribute to attracting new bank customers and conclusion of respective agreements.

Respective provisions are set out in NBU Board Resolution No. 110 On Amendments to the Regulation on the Electronic Handwritten Signature in the Banking System of Ukraine dated 30 July 2020 that takes effect on 01 August 2020.
