As of 1 October 2024, the balance in the special fundraising account the NBU opened to support the defense forces on 24 February 2022 makes over UAH 1.9 billion. Last month, over UAH 2.5 billion was received in the special account.
Over UAH 39 billion was received in the special account since russia launched the full-scale war.
Money has been coming in from individuals and businesses of Ukraine and from all over the international community (including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, France, Canada, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, and many other countries).
That includes the equivalent of almost UAH 18.7 billion that has been remitted from abroad in foreign currencies (U.S. Dollars, euros, GB pounds, Canadian dollars, Chinese renminbi, Japanese yen, Swiss francs, Polish zlotys, Australian dollars).
Overall, since the start of the full-scale war, the NBU has allocated almost UAH 37.3 billion* (over UAH 1.9 million in September 2024) to meet the needs of the defense, in particular:
- over UAH 1,511 million for the National Guard of Ukraine
- UAH 1,650 million for the National Police of Ukraine
- over UAH 23,194 million for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (including UAH 0.8 million transferred on 18 September 2024 and UAH 1,872 million on 24 September 2024)
- UAH 988 million for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
- over UAH 7,183 million for the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine (UAH 72.6 million on 16 September 2024)
- over UAH 156.2 million for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine
- almost UAH 40.1 million for the NSDC of Ukraine
- over UAH 233 million for the State Special Transport Service
- over UAH 573 million for the Security Service of Ukraine
- over UAH 286.9 million for the needs of military units
- over UAH 1,404 million for the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (over UAH 20.3 million on 6 September 2024)
- UAH 47 million for the Defence Procurement Agency.

Information on the special accounts is updated daily on the NBU’s website.
*The information was updated based on the reconciliation of payments made from a special account opened by the NBU for the needs of the defense and factoring in the return of unused funds by recipients. The information changed both in the amount of transfers to the defense forces and in the list of recipients to whom funds were transferred from the special account. In particular, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Defence Procurement Agency were singled out, and the funds of the military units were assigned to the respective defense forces, taking into account their subordination.
