On 1 March 2022, NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko and his Deputy Sergiy Nikolaychuk met Governor of the National Bank of Georgia Koba Gvenetadze.
The meeting participants paid special attention to anti-crisis efforts the National Bank of Georgia made during the Russian-Georgian war in 2008. The NBU management informed their Georgian counterpart about measures already taken by the NBU to ensure that Ukraine’s financial system continues to operate properly while under martial law.
Koba Gvenetadze assured that the National Bank of Georgia is fully supporting the Ukrainian people in the war against Russian occupants, underlining that they voiced their position on this point on 27 February 2022. The NBU is very grateful for the support provided by its international partners!
