On February 24, 2014, the senior managers of the National Bank of Ukraine held a working meeting with the representatives from the leading banks of Ukraine and the Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks. The meeting was attended by Mr Stepan Kubiv, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance and Banking.
The current state and the development prospects for the banking system of Ukraine were on the agenda of the meeting. It was pointed out that the situation in the banking sector was stabilizing and all the banks were operating as usual.
In the course of the meeting, the meeting participants took a unanimous decision to develop and introduce a new instrument designed to maintain banks' liquidity. The Directive in question shall enter into force in the near future.
