Over 2018, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) received 13,305 public inquiries, which is 2,129 (13.8%) less, than in 2017.
Inquiries from citizens and authorized persons reached the central bank through three channels:
- by post – 6,993 inquiries
- by electronic means (by NBU e-mail, from the Government Contact Center, or through the Electronic Interaction System for Executive Authorities (EIS)) 3,607 inquiries
- by the ‘hot line’ 2,705 inquiries.
All citizen’s inquiries were registered, considered in the proper manner, and the relevant actions followed. in particular, the NBU:
- resolved 2,606 issues and
- provided 7,171 explanations.
- 139 inquiries are pending.
The remaining inquiries were reviewed and forwarded, returned to senders or otherwise handled in line with Articles 5, 7, 8 and 17 of the Law of Ukraine On Public Inquiries.
Conventionally, the most frequent subject of the inquiries to the NBU throughout the past year remained relations under loan agreements between borrowers and banks (3,271 inquiries or 24.6% of all public inquiries). Citizens also requested from the NBU the information on banking supervision - 1,654 inquiries (12.4%); relations with the NBU Corporate Non-State Pension Fund - 1,364 (10.3%); payment systems and settlements - 1,344 (10.1%), cash circulation - 956 (7.1%), etc.
In addition, last year, the NBU held 45 personal meetings (95 personal meetings in 2017).
