For the duration of martial law in Ukraine, holidays provided by the Labor Code of Ukraine are cancelled. Furthermore, a holiday will not be shifted to the following after, if the holiday is Saturday or Sunday. Respective provisions are prescribed in the Law of Ukraine On Labor Relations under Martial Law.
Thus, considering legal provisions, as well as extension of martial law until 25 May, please be informed on operation of banks and the System of Electronic Payments of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU SEP) this year in May:
- 1 May – Labor Day on Sunday will not be shifted to a business day. Respectively Monday 2 May 2022 is a business day, including for the banking system. Interbank transfers in SEP will be transacted from 30 April to 2 May 2022, with the banking day being 2 May 2022
- 9 May – Victory Day over Nazism in World War II on Monday will be a routine business day, including for the banking system. Interbank transfers in SEP will be transacted from 7 through 9 May 2022, with the banking day being 9 May 2022.
Please be reminded that regardless of the war, SEP continues business as usual, free of disruption, like in times of peace. All Ukrainian banks are connected to SEP and are making payments to customers almost 24/7 without days-off with consideration of both bank and customer needs.
