In 2017, the NBU launched the practice of holding regular meetings with the top managers that participate in the its business outlook surveys.
The meetings, which are held twice a year, aim to:
- anchor business expectations
- improve forecasts and enhance the quality of news reports
- bolster the authority of the NBU and the financial sector
- provide respondents with a better understanding of monetary policy, financial stability and the NBU’s objectives and
- improve communications between the NBU and the business community.
The meetings are held in the form of a one-day seminar, which includes presentations by NBU experts and discussions.
They provide top managers with the opportunity to highlight current problems and to receive answers from the NBU’s top managers and leading experts to their most urgent questions (regarding FX policy, financial monitoring, inflation, the key policy rate, and so on).
In light of the restrictions imposed by the Ukrainian government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the meetings are currently held online.
