Main Functions:
  • conducting an effective off-site banking supervision on an individual and consolidated basis over the supervised entities’ compliance with the laws and the NBU’s regulations on provision of financial services in the markets of nonbank financial services [except for the legislation regulating the activities in the securities and derivatives markets, professional activities in equity market, and activities in the system of contribution pension provisioning, legislation on protection of consumer rights in financial services, and Ukrainian legislation on advertising (as regards the financial services)] (hereinafter referred to as the laws on financial services), meeting the established obligatory ratios and other indicators and requirements to limit the risks of transactions with financial assets;
  • prompt responding to violations of the laws on financial services by supervised entities, to risky activities that threaten interests of depositors and/or other creditors of nonbank financial institutions, and initiating the imposing of adequate corrective measures as provided for by the Ukrainian laws; 
  • supervising the compliance of nonbank financial institutions with the laws on financial services with respect to carrying out internal audits and ensuring that said institutions have the obligatory external audit conducted pursuant to the requirements of the laws of Ukraine; 
  • analyzing the markets of nonbank financial services subject to state regulation by the NBU (hereinafter referred to as the nonbank financial sector of Ukraine);
  • preparing the supervisory reports for analysis of performance indicators of nonbank financial institutions and nonbank financial sector of Ukraine; 
  • managing the supervisory data (regarding the supervised entities); 
  • regular assessment of the financial standing of nonbank financial institutions and results of their performance; 
  • monitoring the activities of credit bureaus.
