On 17 April 2013, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation the commemorative coin "1 000 Years of the Liadova Cave Monastery” of 20 hryvnia face value, which continues the coin series “Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine”.
The coin is dedicated to the millennium of the Liadova Cave Monastery of Beheading of St. John the Baptist, one of the oldest Orthodox monasteries, which is often called Podilskyi Afono. Founded by Anthony Pechersky, the monastery is located on the left bank of the river Dnister near the village of Liadov. The village is surrounded by unique natural sites in the middle reaches of the Dniester
The coin has been made of silver; quality – “special uncirculated”, weight – 62.2 g, diameter – 50.0 mm, mintage – 3 000 pieces. The coin edge is smooth with in-depth legends: Ag 925 (metal and its fineness).
Obverse: above, there is the semicircular legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE); to the right, there is the Small National Coat of Arms of Ukraine, the coin’s issue year 2013, and a stylized composition with Antony of the Caves in the center, against the background of wing-like cliffs; beneath, there is an Old Rus ornament and the semicircular legend ДВАДЦЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ (TWENTY HRYVNIAS).
Reverse: there is a composition consisting of a stylized fragment of the Cave Monastery, a cross procession of monks and pilgrims, a pigeon (to the left, above), and rays symbolizing the Holy Spirit. There is the circular legend ЛЯДІВСЬКИЙ СВЯТО-УСІКНОВЕНСЬКИЙ СКЕЛЬНИЙ МОНАСТИР (LIADOVA CAVE MONASTERY OF BEHEADING OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST).

The commemorative coin “The Millennial Anniversary of the Cave Monastery in the Village of Liadov” packaged in a case is sold at 1, 027 UAH through the regional branches of the National Bank of Ukraine and NBU distributors engaged in selling commemorative coins.
The commemorative coin is a legal tender of Ukraine and shall be accepted without any restrictions at its face value for all types of payments as well as for placing to the settlement accounts, on deposits, for letters of credit and transfers..
