On 1 March 2012, the National Bank of Ukraine puts into circulation a circulation commemorative coin of ordinary quality “UEFA Euro 2012TM Final Tournament” of 1 hryvnia face value, the issuing volume whereof totaling 5 million pieces.
The circulation commemorative coin “UEFA Euro 2012TM Final Tournament” of 1 hryvnia face value is dedicated to an important sporting event - the final tournament of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship - to be hosted by Poland and Ukraine in 2012.
The coin is an officially licensed product of UEFA Euro 2012™.
On the obverse there are depicted: above - the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with a three-line inscription УКРАЇНА /1/ ГРИВНЯ (Ukraine/1/hryvnia) framed with an Old Russian ornament, below there are indicated the coin issue year 2012 and the logo of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
On the coin reverse there are depicted: a circular inscription ФІНАЛЬНИЙ ТУРНІР ЧЕМПІОНАТУ ЄВРОПИ З ФУТБОЛУ 2012 р. (Final tournament of the championship of Europe / of football / 2012 year), in the centre there is the logo EURO-2012 with the inscriptions UEFA/EURO 2012™/POLAND-UKRAINE thereunder.
The coin is made of aluminum bronze of ordinary quality (weight – 6.8 g, diameter– 26 mm, and thickness – 1.85 mm. There are inscriptions all over the edge of the coin: ОДНА ГРИВНЯ / 2012 (ONE HRYVNIA/2012) separated from each other by dots. The prominent rim is all over the coin. The depiction and inscriptions are in relief.

The circulation commemorative coin of 1 hryvnia face value “UEFA Euro 2012TM Final Tournament” is a legal tender of Ukraine and shall be accepted without any restrictions at its face value for all types of payments as well as for placing to the settlement accounts, on deposits, for letters of credit and transfers and circulates along with banknotes and circulation coins of 1 hryvnia face value, which have been issued earlier.
