On 26 April 2012, an extraordinary session of the Council of the National Bank was convoked by Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Sergiy Arbuzov upon his initiative.
"It has been the first session of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine in the past three years. Some hefty issues facing the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine need to be addressed. In particular, the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine will have to elect the Chairman,” said Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Sergiy Arbuzov.
The members of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine cast open ballots and elected Ihor M. Prasolov as the Chairman of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine by a unanimous vote.
Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Sergiy Arbuzov greeted the newly appointed Chairman and reaffirmed that from now on sessions of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine would be held on a quarterly basis in compliance with the legislation.
