Congratulatory speech by Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Sergiy Arbuzov delivered at the solemn celebration of the Day of Bank Employees

On 18 May 2012, the Day of Bank Employees was marked at the National Bank of Ukraine.

Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Sergiy Arbuzov delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and personally greeted the attendees. Sergiy Arbuzov emphasized the importance of the banker’s job in any country in the world, and Ukraine is no exception as market mechanisms are working to bring the economy of our country on the right track, with bankers being key drivers of progress.

“The central bank’s banker is a special person, a special banker who is entrusted with the duty of safeguarding price stability by the Law and Constitution. We have a lot to be proud of. I feel confident that last year we fulfilled our task and achieved price stability, exchange rate stability, as well as overall stability of the banking system,” said Sergiy Arbuzov.

The Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine thanked the staff for fruitful work, wished all bank employees success, happiness, good health, family warmth and professional achievements.

Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Sergiy Arbuzov handed out the honorary awards, certificates, lapel badges and precious prizes to the winners of All-Ukrainian contest of children’s drawings and employees of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the occasion of the Day of Bank Employees, the concert was held with the participation of lead singer of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Yurchenko and honoured actress of Ukraine Natalka Karpa, who performed a song-present “Our hryvnia” at the end of the concert.
