Oleh Churiy appointed Head of the Office for Open Market Operations and Government Securities Allocation

Oleh Churiy has been appointed Head of the NBU Office for Open Market Operations and Government Securities Allocation.

 As Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriia Gontareva noted, the staffing policy of the regulator gives priority to high professionalism and par excellence managerial capacity of its employees. “Employment of the best specialists in the field is crucial for the efficient fulfillment of the central bank's mandate. I am convinced that the newly appointed Head of the Office for Open Market Operations and Government Securities Allocation with his high professional expertise will prove instrumental in boosting the efficiency of public debt service operations and helping regulate liquidity in the banking system," she said.

In 1993, Oleh Churiy graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. In 1994, he graduated as an economist and banking manager from the Higher Banking School of the International Centre for Market Relations and Business – Centre “Market”, where he majored in Finance and Credit.

Oleh Churiy has been employed in the banking industry since 1993. Since 1999, he has held managerial positions in various banks: head of Treasury Department at Bank Austria Creditanstalt Ukraine JSCB, deputy head of Investment Business Department, head of Investment Business Service at Joint-Stock Commercial Innovation Bank "UkrSibbank", head of Division for Operations in Fixed Income Instruments of the Investment Department at VTB Bank PJSC.

He is fluent in English.

It should be noted that as part of efforts to build an efficient system of governance to manage internal processes in the National Bank of Ukraine, the Department of Foreign Exchange Reserve Management and Open Market Operations was reorganized through the establishment of the Office for Open Market Operations and Government Securities Allocation and the Office for Foreign Exchange Operations and Financial Market Analysis.
