Information on the handling of citizens' appeals at the National Bank of Ukraine in the first half of 2012

The National Bank of Ukraine provides information on the handling of citizens’ appeals at the headquarters of the National Bank of Ukraine in the first quarter of 2012, as prescribed by the Law of Ukraine “On Citizens’ Appeals”.

According to information on the status of appeals filed by citizens, in the first half of 2012, the National Bank of Ukraine handled 2,720 appeals filed by citizens of Ukraine and other countries and provided responses thereto, with personal citizens’ appeals accounting for 71.5% of all the total number of appeals.

In most cases, the citizens have raised issues related to the relationship arising out of credit or deposit agreements, their portion making up 37.6% and 23.9% respectively.

The NBU experts have given careful consideration to all the citizens’ appeals and taken the relevant measures. In particular, 1,873 citizens have received positive decisions, 173 appeals are still under consideration, and the remaining appeals have been addressed in accordance with Articles 5, 7, 8 and 17 of the Law of Ukraine “On Citizens’ Appeals”.
