The winners and nominees of the Second All-Ukrainian Children’s Drawing Contest entitled “Tomorrow’s National Bank” were announced at the awards ceremony held at the National Bank of Ukraine on 20 May 2013. The Contest was launched by the National Bank of Ukraine last year to increase children’s knowledge about the National Bank of Ukraine, its functions and tasks, as well as to uncover children’s creative abilities.
The awards ceremony was part of the festivities arranged by the National Bank of Ukraine to mark the Day of Bank Employees.
Mr. Ihor Sorkin, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, opened a specially arranged exhibition featuring works by prize winners and nominees of the Second All-Ukrainian Children’s Drawing Contest entitled “Tomorrow’s National Bank”. The exhibition is hosted at the headquarters of the National Bank of Ukraine
"By virtue of a Presidential Decree, the year 2013 has been declared as the Year of Children's Creativity. Holding Children’s Drawing Contest has become a well-established tradition for the National Bank of Ukraine. We are fascinated by young talents. A great variety of themes, unconventional approaches to interpreting the theme of the Contest, enormous creativity and skills that children have demonstrated through their artworks have made a great impression on us. The most important thing is that all works are positive and optimistic. Looking at this beauty, one can say that the future of Ukraine looks bright and promising. It is a great pleasure for me to open this exhibition. I wish you could develop your creativity as you grow up to contribute to the development of our country,” said Mr. Ihor Sorkin.
The artworks by the winners and nominees of the Second All-Ukrainian Children’s Drawing Contest entitled “Tomorrow’s National Bank” will be on display in a travelling exhibition that is available for circulation to all the regional branches of the National Bank of Ukraine. The drawings selected by the Jury will be included in the album and 2014 calendar. The winners of the Second All-Ukrainian Children’s Drawing Contest entitled “Tomorrow’s National Bank”:
The first place winner – Anna Sumarokova, aged 10, drawing entitled “Dream bank”, Kherson;
The second place winner – Kateryna Samsonenko, aged 13, drawing entitled “Traditions preserved for centuries”, Sumy;
The third place winner – Kseniia Sabieieva, aged 10, drawing entitled “Tomorrow’s National bank ”, Zhytomyr.
The contestants who have received special recognition awards in the following categories:
“For bright prospects” – Anastasiia Yurova, aged 10, drawing entitled “Tomorrow’s bank will render services to monsters”, Lutsk;
“For originality” – Oleksandra Stolytsia, aged 14, drawing entitled “NBU props up hryvnia, hryvnia keeps the situation in the country under control”, Zinkiv;
“For devotion to folk traditions” – Anastasiia Didenko, 11 aged, drawing entitled “NBU operates, Ukraine prospers!”, Chygyryn.

Approximately 3,000 children aged 9-15 across the country participated in the Second All-Ukrainian Children’s Drawing Contest entitled “Tomorrow’s National Bank”.
The authorized Jury evaluated the entries based on several criteria: relevance to the theme of the Contest, artistic skills, originality, technical and compositional perfection, quality, preciseness. 75 winners of the first phase of the Contest (3 in each region) were selected by the authorized Jury at each regional branch of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On 25 April 2013, the winners and nominees whose works have received special recognition were awarded diplomas and prizes by the management of the regional branches of the National Bank of Ukraine. At the second phase of the Contest, the authorized Jury appointed at the National Bank of Ukraine selected the three winners (first place, second place and third place winners respectively) and nominees.
