Olena Avramenko, Director of Internal Audit Department, the National Bank of Ukraine, has received the prestigious Chief Audit Executive of the Year 2025 award from the international professional organization Institute of Internal Auditors.
This award is one of the world’s highest professional honors in the area of internal audit and is presented as part of The IIA Excellence Awards, a global initiative that annually recognizes leaders, innovators, and dedicated professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the profession.
That said, the Chief Audit Executive of the Year nomination has been established for the first time this year and is designed to recognize industry leaders whose visionary perspective elevates the role of internal audit, promotes cross-cultural collaboration, serves as a role model for budding audit professionals, and has a transformative impact on the future global environment.
It is immensely valuable that the first winner in this prestigious nomination was a representative of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The Institute of Internal Auditors highly appreciated the effectiveness and achievements of the NBU’s Internal Audit Department and its head Olena Avramenko.
International experts have recognized her leadership in developing the internal control system, improving the efficiency of the central bank’s audit processes, and her dedication to the profession.

The award ceremony took place during the annual IIA International Conference 2025, which brought together leading experts and practitioners from around the world.
