Mykhailo Rebryk Appointed Director of Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis Department

Effective 6 March 2026, Mykhailo Rebryk is Director of the NBU’s Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis Department (MPEAD).

It is within his purview to ensure that the MPEAD:

  • implements the monetary policy strategy and decisions on monetary policy instruments applied by the NBU
  • prepares macroeconomic forecasts by major sector and develops and operates a system of forecasting models
  • analyzes Ukraine’s economic policy and the development of the monetary, real, fiscal, and external sectors, as well as of the international economy
  • provides logistical and informational-analytical support to the Monetary Policy Committee
  • organizes and coordinates research at the NBU, coordinates fundamental and applied research into monetary policy, macroeconomic development, modeling, and forecasting.

The MPEAD is part of Monetary Stability, a line of command supervised by NBU Deputy Governor Volodymyr Lepushynskyi.

“Leading a department responsible for macroeconomic analysis and monetary policy recommendations in order to fulfill the NBU’s mandate requires strategic thinking, a systemic approach, and deep analytical expertise. Mykhailo Rebryk is a knowledgeable professional with many years of experience in monetary policy implementation and economic analysis. I expect he will ensure that our team operates at the proper level of performance and coordination,” said Deputy Governor Lepushynskyi.

Mykhailo Rebryk has multiple years of research experience, with an emphasis on analytical, theoretical, and applied research.

He has been working at the NBU since April 2020, including as Director of the MPEAD since December 2025.

Between December 2024 and his appointment as Director, Mykhailo Rebryk was Deputy Director of the MPEAD and Head of its Monetary Policy Office. In 2020–2024, he served as Head of the MPEAD’s Monetary Policy Office.

Before joining the NBU, he spent two years at Raiffeisen Bank, working as Chief Manager for Macroeconomic Analysis at the bank’s Treasury Department.

Mykhailo Rebryk has extensive experience working in research and teaching roles: at the Cherkasy Institute of Banking of the NBU’s University of Banking (2014–2018), the NBU’s Sevastopol Institute of Banking (2012–2014), and the NBU’s Ukrainian Academy of Banking (2008–2011).

Mykhailo Rebryk graduated with honors from the NBU’s Ukrainian Academy of Banking (Master’s in Banking) in 2008. In 2012, he received his PhD in Economics
