On February 18, 2015, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation three commemorative coins of 5 hryvnia face value each: Euromaidan, Revolution of Dignity and Heavenly Hundred that form part the “To the Heroes of the Maidan” series eternizing the memory of the fallen and the events that took place in Ukraine in November 2013 – February 2014 and have taken their place in history as the Revolution of Dignity.
Given a high demand for the commemorative coins and in order to prevent wild speculative sprees, please be advised that the coins have been issued with a mintage volume of 150, 000 pieces (50,000 pieces each). 60,000 coins come in a souvenir case.
Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakiv Smolii said: "The coins enjoy great popularity and demand. Today the coins are available at the sales offices selling commemorative coins, in particular,
the regional offices of the National Bank of Ukraine, and the distributor banks. The commemorative coins from the “To the Heroes of the Maidan” series have resonated with the society and the National Bank of Ukraine has adopted a decision to release an additional issue of coins to meet the demand for these coins to the extent possible.
The coin is priced at UAH 29, The coin set packaged in a souvenir case is priced at UAH 99.
The coins are made from from German silver, quality – " special uncirculated ", weight – 16.5 G, diameter – 35.0 мм. The coin edge is grooved. The coins are manufactured with use of the pad printing (tampography) process.
