On April 2, 2015, the presentation of the first issue of the Inflation Report was held at the National Bank of Ukraine.
The Inflation Report is a conventional name that refers to a key comprehensive analytical paper produced by world central banks in the monetary policy area. It is common practice for these reports to contain justifications for the adopted monetary policy decisions and measures aimed at achieving monetary policy goals in the future based on the macroeconomic analysis and forecast.
Going forward, this Report will be published on a quarterly basis, a week after the Monetary Policy Committee's meeting takes place, at which, apart from monetary policy decisions, an updated macroeconomic forecast is considered and approved.
Commenting on the publication of the Inflation Report, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Dmytro Sologub said: "This analytical paper is an important communication tool used by the central bank to communicate with the public, businesses and the government to enhance its transparency and accountability, which contributes to building stakeholders' confidence in the policy pursued by the bank".
He also emphasized that the launch of the Inflation Report which will be published on a regular basis marks an important step towards bringing the National Bank closer to the standards of leading world banks.
