Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriia Gontareva is on a working visit to Shanghai (The People's Republic of China).
During her visit, the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine will meet with the Governor of the People's
Bank of China and sign the Bilateral Currency Swap Agreement between the National Bank of Ukraine and the People's Bank of China.
In addition, Valeriia Gontareva will participate in the 33rd Meeting of the Central Bank Governors’ Club of Central Asia, Black Sea Region and Balkan Countries (hereinafter – the Club) to discuss the major regional, global economic and financial developments, structural changes in the banking sector, inflation developments, ways of reforming the financial systems, etc.
The Club was established in 1998 with the purpose of promoting exchange of experience, strengthening and expanding cooperation and coordination among the central banks on issues falling within the competence of the Club members.
The Club holds meetings of the central bank governors twice a year. Currently, the Club comprises the central banks of 25 member countries: Azerbaijan, Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Greece, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Croatia, Czech Republic and Montenegro. The representatives from the central banks of the EU countries, the ECB, international financial organizations (BIS, IMF, and EBRD), representatives from research centers are invited to take part in the Club meetings.
Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriia Gontareva arrived on a visit to Shanghai on May 12, 2015, and will stay there till May 15, 2015.
