On 26 June 2013, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation the commemorative coin “World Junior Championship in Athletics” of 2 hryvnia face value, which continues the "Sports" series. The coin is devoted to the most prestigious championships for junior aged athletes that will be held in the city of Dnepropetrovsk and will help boost the country's image on the world arena.

The coin is made of German silver,  quality – “proof”, weight– 12.8 g, diameter – 31.0  mm, mintage – 20 000 pieces. The coin edge is grooved. Designer and engraver – Volodymyr Atamanchuk.

The commemorative coin “World Junior Championship in Athletics” is priced at UAH 15. It is available for sale at the regional branches of the National Bank of Ukraine and NBU distributors engaged in selling commemorative coins.

The commemorative coin is a legal tender of Ukraine and shall be accepted without any restrictions at their face values for all types of payments as well as for placing to the settlement accounts, on deposits, for letters of credit and transfers.

We would like to remind you that the World Junior Championship in Athletics will be held at the Regional Sports Complex "Olimpiyskyi" in the city of Donetsk. The World Junior Championships in Athletics is an international athletics competition for athletes qualifying as juniors, which is held biennially. Every time the event brings together about 2,000 athletes from 200 countries. During five days young athletes compete in 20 different kinds of track and field events.
