The network of ATMs accepting NSMEP payment cards expanded to add 2,899 ATMs

On August 10, 2015, Raiffeisen Bank Aval PJSC started servicing NSMEP magnetic-stripe payment cards through its ATMs based on open international standards.

Raiffeisen Bank Aval PJSC has been an NSMEP participant since April 2014. Its network of ATMs has 2,899 devices. Today, more than 77% of all the ATMs operating in Ukraine service magnetic-stripe payment cards of the revamped NSMEP, whereas 68% of the devices accept NSMEP cards with a magnetic stripe and an EMV chip.

“The National Bank of Ukraine as the NSMEP Payment institution does its best to build a state-of-the-art card payment system  that meets the market  requirements, – said Serhii Shatsky, Director of the NBU Retail Payments Department. – The fact that such a big payment cards market player as Raiffeisen Bank Aval PJSC has joined the NSMEP sends an encouraging signal that the national payment system is developing and can offer competitive services to banks.

The NSMEP payment cards are currently serviced based on open international standards by the following banks: PRIVATBANK PJSCCB, OSCHADBANK JSC, Ukrgasbank JSB,   Ukreximbank JSC, KHRESCHATYK PJSCCB, BANK MIKHAYLIVSKIY PJSC, FIDОBАNК PJSC, DIAMANTBANK PJSC, Pivdennyi JSC, REGION-BANK JSC and Raiffeisen Bank Aval PJSC.

The National Bank of Ukraine as the NSMEP Payment institution continues to encourage new participants to join the payment system to expand the network of ATMs accepting payment cards and increase the share of cashless payments.

The National System of Mass Electronic Payments is a domestic banking multiple-issuer retail payment system, in which all payments for goods and services,  cash withdrawals and other transactions are carried out using special means of payment, based on technology  developed by the National Bank of Ukraine.
