On 6 October 2015 Mr Oleh Zamorskyi was appointed as the director of Legal Department of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Oleh Zamorskyi will be in charge of the work of the NBU’s department developing legislative proposals and legal appraisal of law and regulation drafts, manage harmonization of the laws of Ukraine with those of the European Union and cooperation in legal area with foreign central banks and international organizations, ensure the NBU’s cooperation with relevant committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and relevant structural units of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ministries and other central authorities of executive power, the President’s Administration, etc.

Oleh Zamorskyi has over 20 years of experience in the legal area, including 10 years in executive positions at Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine, OTP Bank JSC and FIRST UKRAINIAN INTERNATIONAL BANK PJSC.

“For this position we were looking for an expert who could be an agent of changes and transformations initiated by the National Bank of Ukraine. Considering the fact that most of the said processes need to be legally formalized, such activity should be exemplary like in the past and directly promote the protection of the regulator’s interests and proper execution of its functions and mandate. I am confident that the new leader together with his team will succeed in all strategic tasks, which the Legal Department is facing now,” - commented the appointment First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Oleksandr Pysaruk.

Oleh Zamorskyi obtained a university degree in international law at the Institute of International Relations of the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University and gained a qualification of an international lawyer.
