Today, the NBU Governor’s Declaration on Property, Income, Expenses, and Financial Liabilities (hereinafter – the Declaration) has been posted on the National Bank of Ukraine’s website. The Declaration has been published as mandated by the Law of Ukraine on Principles of Corruption Prevention and Counteraction.

In 2015, the NBU Governor reported UAH 26.8 million in total income and paid almost UAH 6 million of it in taxes, including military tax to the State Budget of Ukraine.

In 2015, the NBU Governor’s gross salary was UAH 1.754 million, of which Ms Gontareva paid about UAH 340,000 in income tax and UAH 26,400 in military tax.

In 2015, the NBU Governor earned UAH 23.518 million in proceeds from the sale of her shares in ICU Holdings Limited (hereinafter – the ICU).

As reported earlier, before assuming the office of NBU Governor in 2014, Ms Gontareva sold a portion of her shares in the ICU. She received the proceeds from the sale of these shares and paid the taxes due thereon.  

Ms Gontareva received the second installment of proceeds from the sale of shares in 2015. These proceeds are reflected in Item 18 of Section II of the Declaration. The NBU Governor has submitted a tax return to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, in which she reported proceeds from the sale of her shares and UAH 4.704 million in taxes and UAH 353,000 in military tax, which have been paid to the State Budget of Ukraine.

Ms Gontareva placed these funds on deposit with Ukreximbank PJSC (Item 46, Section V of the Declaration). As of the end of 2015, savings account balances held by the NBU Governor with banks amounted to UAH 44 million.

In 2015, Ms Gontareva earned UAH 1.507 million in interest on deposits and paid UAH 380,000 and UAH 28,500 thousand of it in taxes and military tax, respectively.

In 2015, the real estate owned by the NBU Governor remained unchanged. Ms Gontareva  owns a land plot of 900 square meters, a residential house with a total area of 250 square meters and an apartment of 106 square meters. Ms Gonatreva owned this real estate in 2014 before being appointed as NBU Governor.

In 2015, the real estate owned by the NBU Governor’s family members remained unchanged.

The NBU Governor owns two motor vehicles: a 2012 Porsche Panamera and a 2013 Porsche Cayenne. Ms Gontareva purchased these motor vehicles before assuming the office of NBU Governor. In 2015, the NBU Governor paid UAH 50,000 in luxury car tax.

The NBU Governor’s family members own a 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser. In 2015, Ms Gontareva’s family members sold a 2007 Porsche Cayenne for UAH 749,300. The proceeds from the sale of the car are reported in the Declaration as family members’ income (Item 16, Section II).

In 2015, the NBU Governor spent UAH 1.2 million, including UAH 300,000 in maintenance expenses in respect of both movable and immovable property (utilities, expenses on fuel, and vehicle maintenance) and UAH 900,000 in other expenses.
