National Bank of Ukraine Hands Over Its Premises Located in Kherson Oblast to the State Security Service of Ukraine

The National Bank of Ukraine rents out part of its premises with a total area of 750  sq.m  located in Kherson Oblast to the Regional Department of the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)  in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

“Most functions that were earlier performed by the NBU’s regional departments have been centralized as part of the NBU’s transformation project. Part of the central bank’s premises located in the city of Kherson currently remain idle as the central bank’s functions in Kherson Oblast have already been streamlined   and most of the office areas have been vacated. The central bank’s strategy regarding real estate assets provides for vacation of the office areas in the regions. This enables us to help the State Security Service of Ukraine,” said NBU Deputy Governor Mr Vladyslav Rashkovan.

Head of the State Security Service of Ukraine Mr Hrytsak highly appreciated the NBU’s efforts to help the SBU resume the operation of the Crimean department.

“We are grateful to NBU Governor Ms Gontareva for responding to our request for help in finding premises for our department and offering to rent out part of the premises earlier occupied by the NBU’s regional department in Kherson Oblast. I would like to express a special gratitude to Ukraine’s President Mr Petro Poroshenko for supporting our initiative to resume the operation of the Crimean department of the SBU,” underlined Mr Hrytsak.

Most of the functions earlier performed by the NBU’s regional department in Kherson Oblast were centralized in the NBU’s Head Office at the end of the last year. The NBU regional representative offices will ensure that the needs of all the regions in banknotes and coins of all denominations are fully met and maintain the operation of divisions responsible for handling enquiries from individuals and legal entities through the "One-Stop-Shop".
