On October 9–15, 2013, the delegation from Ukraine headed by Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Ihor Sorkin, a governor in the IMF Board of Governors from Ukraine, is to take part in the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the IMF and the World Bank Group.

During the Annual Meetings, representatives of member countries of the IMF and the World Bank will discuss pressing global social and economic development issues and the state of the global financial system. The need for joint measures to promote global financial stability, as well as the role of the IMF and the World Bank in this process, will be debated.  The representatives of the institutions' member countries will also review the relevant aspects of the current and future work of the IMF and the World Bank and consider the need to complete the ongoing reforms and further improve their performance in order to address the world's current needs.

The Ukrainian delegation is to participate, among other high-level international meetings, in the Netherlands Constituency meeting.

The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors generally take place once a year in September-October. Last year they took place in Tokyo. The first Annual Meetings were held in 1946.
