National Bank of Ukraine to Hold a Public Research Seminar on the Exchange Rate Pass-through Effect on Prices

The National Bank of Ukraine encourages all interested stakeholders to participate in the next research seminar to be held at the National Bank of Ukraine  on 22 July 2016 at 2.00 p.m.  Mr Oleksandr Faryna, a leading specialist at the Research Division of the NBU Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis Department,  will present the findings of his paper entitled “Nonlinear Exchange Rate Pass-Through to Domestic Prices in Ukraine”.

In his paper, Mr Faryna assesses the pass-through from exchange rate movements to consumer prices in Ukraine. The findings of similar research studies conducted in other countries suggest that he magnitude of the pass-through effect hinges on the size and direction of exchange rate movements.  The paper provides an answer to the question of whether similar conclusions can be drawn regarding the responsiveness of domestic consumer prices to exchange rate changes.

The working language of the seminar will be English.

In order to participate in a seminar, all interested stakeholders must submit an application indicating the applicant's first name and surname, place of employment, and contact information (telephone, e-mail) by 12.00 p.m. on 21 July 2016 via e-mail to [email protected].
