E-Money Payments Increased 1.6 Times to UAH 1.8 billion in Ukraine in Q1 2016

In Q1 2016 users paid for goods, works and services with e-money for total amount of UAH 1.8 billion. It is 1.6 more than during similar period in 2015 when it amounted to UAH 1.1 billion. Such results of the NBU analysis of transactions performed with e-money of banks in the first six months of 2016 and 2015.

According to the results of the analysis, total amount of issued e-money in Q1 of this year increased almost two-fold compared with Q1 2015 - from UAH 21.6 billion to UAH 39 billion.

In Q1 2016 compared with first half of the last year e-money issue increased:

  • PROSTIR - almost 11 times - from UAH 0.2 million to UAH 2.3 million;
  • Visa - almost 10 times - from UAH 0.01 million to UAH 0.1 million;
  • MAXI - almost 3 times - from UAH 4.7 million to UAH 14.9 million;
  • MoneXy - almost 1.6 times - from UAH 7.2 million to UAH 11.9 million;
  • MasterCard - almost 1.2 times - from UAH 1 million to UAH 1.2 million.

Total amount of e-wallets/accounts for the respective period increased in 1.2 times - from 36 million to 43.6 million.
